This is my Valentine's Day greeting to everyone, because I'm too lazy to greet everyone individually (by text message or online).
I wanted to do something cute, bloody and related to vampires. I, too, love vampires. Vampire Kisses is my favorite graphic novel currently. >////<;; (I like Twilight too, but I'm not a fangirl. I don't have a very strong opinion about it, but I think it's an enjoyable read.) She's holding some sort of fruit - injected full of blood. ~KRUUS: "They might get addicted, too." =Aurasama: "But then they'd have to find drug users regularly to fulfill that need..." ~KRUUS: "Not necessarily. Take one guy, pump his veins full of heroin and drink." =Aurasama: "...he'd die of poisoning if they did that." Thank you! Glad you liked it!
-- The Mad Hatter is no ordinary garden-variety whacko. Gatecrash the tea party anyway? Squeeh, many thanks! 8D Glad you like it!
And I totally admit I had to check the dictionary for 'obnoxious', I had no idea what it meant. XD Thanks for teaching me a new word. -- The Mad Hatter is no ordinary garden-variety whacko. Gatecrash the tea party anyway? Ehehe, she does!
-- The Mad Hatter is no ordinary garden-variety whacko. Gatecrash the tea party anyway? Meillä on perhosia.
Kiitos~ -- The Mad Hatter is no ordinary garden-variety whacko. Gatecrash the tea party anyway? |

She's a very cute vampire, but in a way she is almost too cute. She has these thick, short features, like she is a child. The concept of a child vampire is sort of tragic, kind of like in Interview with a Vampire – a creature who will live forever, and live forever being dependent on others. And apparently thanking those others with fruit...
I suppose it is too simple for there to be a major problem with it, which is always a good thing. Simple is very accessible, and in this case very attractive, with the pretty colors and smooth lines. She is sort of hiding in her blurs of color, popping out of a cloud with her unusual treat. Very unique mood!
I like how you used reds and purples, portraying the spirit of Valentine's Day. And the heart-shaped fruit is a nice detail, adding to the overall feeling of the piece. I also like how you blended the different tones for the background. The details on her sleeves are quite nice as well.
However, there's a few things you could fix up to make this much better and they involve anatomy and posture. The first one is the position of her mouth: it shouldn't be so close to the chin as you placed it, which also affects the position of her nose, moving both a bit above of where they are now.
Second point is the eyes and the space between them. It's not that noticeable, but moving her left eye a bit more to her left would make her face look better.
Third one: her hands. The fingers are too fat and unless you designed this character to be quite chubby, you should make them thinner. Also, her left hand is in an awkward posture, as if she's raising her elbow up in the air.
I made a red-line paint over to help you understand what I said above and I hope it helps you in future drawings. Here it is: [link]
Thanks and keep practicing!
