Artist's Comments

Phew, it's finally ready. Eventhought the artwork is really small, this took me a long while to complete. I started working on it some weeks ago and today I finally finished it. This started out as a self-portrait of sorts and ended up somewhere in the field of fantasy/new age art. I enjoyed doing this work enormously, and as you can see, I love drawing angel wings. I can't really say this looks like me anymore, as my hair shorter than this (thought I'm growing it to this lenght)... But let's pretend it's my inner self or something. My inner self is a lot prettier than my 'real' self anyway. :XD: Heh, kidding!

MEDIA: Pilot SW-DR1-B Drawing Pen 01 for lineart, Faber-Castell's artist brush pens and Copic Ciao markers for coloring.
SIZE: A6 = 10,5 x 14,8 cm / 4 1/8" x 5 13/16" (I scanned it in 150 DPI so this is bigger)
TIME TAKEN: No idea... about 5 hours I think. I must have put at least 15 layers of Copic Ciao E50 (Egg Shell) for the sky! :faint:

(afterword)
I was inspired by Princess Ai and dried decoration flowers. -giggles- I had no idea what kind of background to do and I got the idea for this field in Inkoo, as my relatives had lots of dry flowers to decorate their living room. They live in a real mansion and it's HUGE.

It's beautiful. I don't know why, but the background reminds me of Amano works. But it doesn't matter, it's pretty. Ummm, suddently I have irresistible urge to draw something like this... damn you Aura XD

Oh! I'm glad to see you're back into activity, well, what I have to say about it. The sunset"is" coloring is just amazing, I love the feel of those warm, but still peaceful color, the pose is pretty, and the overall work is just stunningly detailed and beautiful. I'm particulary atacched with the sky, it's so beautiful.

Well, but there's only one critique, and I hope it doesn't bother you, the color of the "flower girls" (fearies? spirits?) is too outstanding, so it gets to catch more attention and kinda pops out from the background, messing a little with the cromatic perspective, if the color was a little lighter it would be fixed, still, it doesn't makes the piece less attractive. :D Great work!
