There is no escaping the Wheel of Fortune when it starts to spin...
I've had the idea of making an Amnesia illustration with this theme for a long time now, but the idea didn't take shape properly until earlier this summer. This has been in the works for long and I'm very happy, and proud, to finally present the finished work to all of you. *faints forever*
The first inspiration for this was simply the Wheel used as an instrument of torture in the game, because it made me think of the old Wheel of Fortune, Rota Fortunae, legend and of the goddess Fortuna who spins the wheel with her eyes blindfolded. Don't you think Daniel might have fashioned himself something akin to the goddess, passing down judgments on those who cross his way, unable to see that it's him whose eyes have been tied to keep him from seeing the truth?
I've poured a shitload of symbolism here as usual. Feel free to tell me your thoughts and try to guess what those might be this time~
Also, trying to draw that wheel = impossible geometry in the very literal sense. My brain hurts from having to use mathematics.
Media: tea, watercolours, ink, white paint and pastel pencils.
Size: 22x30 cm.
I think I learned to use tea as a medium simply by accident. I often have a warm drink nearby while working and there's always the risk of splashing it all over the picture.
That sounds legit; that's how my friend started using coffee as a medium. xD
